Luxury Pashtoosh Stoles
From time to time we are able to offer Pashtoosh shawls and stoles. The Pashtoosh is the most luxurious ring stole available passing easily through a woman's ring. Only the finest pashmina cashmere from the changthangi (pashmina goat) is used for Pashtoosh shawls and stoles and is notoriously difficult to spin. Being less than 2 inches long and under 15 microns thick, almost 6 times thinner than a human hair, it cannot be spun by machine. Therefore, producing a Pashtoosh pashmina can take a family many weeks. It is the product that demonstrates perfectly the skill of traditional weavers in Kashmir. True Pashtoosh are not freely available outside of India and those on our site are imported directly from families working in this traditional way in Kashmir. Beware of imitations made of viscose or mixed fibres.
Authentic Pashtoosh are gossamer light and only made from the softest pashmina cashmere available. Unlike imitation stoles the Pashtoosh breathes giving warmth with ultimate comfort. Once you have worn one you can certainly feel the difference.
